Fleet Fuel Waste Assessment

Fuel waste assessment for Geotab fleets

Your Geotab account already records the fuel, distance, idle time and engine hours of every truck. The assessment turns 12 months of it into one report: how much fuel is recoverable, where it goes, and the 10 trucks to fix first.

CA$500 for the report. Review call available separately.

    How connecting Geotab works

What we need: a separate Geotab user with the "View only" clearance. We only read trip, fuel and engine data, and never change anything in Geotab.

    1. 1

      Get your estimate, then pay

Start on the assessment page: see your estimate, then pay and create your account. Nothing is connected before you pay.

    2. 2

      Connect Geotab, read-only

Add a separate user with the "View only" clearance and enter that user's sign-in and database name.

    3. 3

      Get your report

We read 12 months of your Geotab history and email you when your report is ready.

    Read-only, and fast

    Your data stays yours

    • •Nothing is connected or stored until you have paid.
    • •Read-only access: we only read trip, fuel and engine data and never change anything in your system.
    • •Remove our access the moment your report is done.
    • •Your fleet data is stored in Canada and deleted within 30 days of closing your assessment, unless you join the platform.

Your report, usually the same day. Connect Samsara, Geotab, Motive or ISAAC automatically, or upload reports from any other telematics provider. Connected systems: most reports are ready within an hour. Uploads (one file per month for 12 months): ready as soon as they are in.

Join the platform and get CA$100 back. Subscribe to the CleanFreight platform within 30 days of your report and CA$100 of what you paid for the assessment comes off your first platform invoice.

    What the report shows

    • How many dollars a year of fuel your fleet can recover, from 12 months of your own Geotab data
    • Where the money is: excess idling versus the fuel-economy gap between your trucks
    • The 10 trucks to look at first, with plain-language reasons, and your 5 best trucks
    • Month-by-month fuel economy and idle share, and how you compare with assessed fleets of your type

Real fleets from Clean Freight fuel assessments, 12 months of data each, names withheld, priced at this week's diesel price. Idling: hours above a 30% idle target at 4 litres an hour. Fuel-economy gap: the fuel saved at the fuel economy of the best quarter of assessed fleets of the same type. Slip: the fleet's fuel economy in its best 3 months against its worst. The amounts overlap, so they are not added together. Your report goes truck by truck: which trucks are slipping, and which pairs of trucks should swap work.

    Geotab assessment questions

What access does the assessment need from Geotab?

A separate Geotab user with the "View only" clearance. You enter that user's sign-in and your database name after you have paid. We only read trip, fuel and engine data and never change anything in Geotab.

Do I have to share my own Geotab login?

No. Create a separate View only user just for the assessment. It is easy to check and easy to delete in Geotab when your report is done, without touching anyone else's login.

How long does it take with Geotab?

Most reports are ready within an hour of connecting. After connecting, press Pull 12-Month History on the Geotab card so we have a full year to work from. We email you when the report is ready.
