Fuel waste assessment

Find out which trucks are burning your money

A fuel waste assessment built from 12 months of your own telematics data: how much is recoverable, where it goes, and the 10 trucks to fix first.

CA$500 for the report. Review call available separately.

    What could your fleet recover?

Type in your fleet and your annual fuel. The estimate uses what fleets on CleanFreight actually recover; your report will use your own data.

Your main trailer type, as SmartWay groups fleets.

    litres / yr

Total litres your fleet bought last year. Priced at CA$2.68 a litre (Canada average diesel, Natural Resources Canada, week of Oct 20).

    Only used about your assessment.

    What other fleets found

Six real fleets from our fuel assessments: what idling and the fuel-economy gap were costing them at this week's diesel price, and how far their fuel economy slipped during the year.

Real fleets from Clean Freight fuel assessments, 12 months of data each, names withheld, priced at this week's diesel price. Idling: hours above a 30% idle target at 4 litres an hour. Fuel-economy gap: the fuel saved at the fuel economy of the best quarter of assessed fleets of the same type. Slip: the fleet's fuel economy in its best 3 months against its worst. The amounts overlap, so they are not added together. Your report goes truck by truck: which trucks are slipping, and which pairs of trucks should swap work.

Your report uses your own telematics data and names your own trucks. It also shows how you compare with assessed fleets of your type, same months of the year, and how every figure was worked out.

    How it works

    1. 1

      Pay and create your account

One payment for the report. Your account is created at the same time, and nothing is connected before you pay.

    2. 2

Connect your telematics or upload your reports

Samsara, Geotab, Motive or ISAAC connect in a few clicks; read-only access is enough. Other systems: upload your vehicle performance reports.

    3. 3

      Get your report

We email you when it is ready; history loads take minutes to an hour. A 30-minute review call to walk through it with us is available separately.

    Common questions

    Who is the assessment for?

Trucking fleets that already run telematics and want a straight answer about fuel: how much is being wasted, where, and which trucks to look at first. It works for fleets from a handful of trucks to several hundred.

    What access do you need?

Read-only access to your telematics data: fuel, distance, idle time and engine hours per truck. Nothing is installed, nothing in your telematics is changed, and nothing is connected or stored until you have paid and created your account.

    Is our data safe?

Nothing is connected or stored until you have paid. Read-only access: we only read trip, fuel and engine data and never change anything in your system. Remove our access the moment your report is done. Your fleet data is stored in Canada and deleted within 30 days of closing your assessment, unless you join the platform.

    Which telematics systems work?

Samsara, Geotab, Motive and ISAAC connect directly. Any other system works if you can export its vehicle performance reports; you upload them and we read them.

    How long does it take?

Loading 12 months of history takes minutes to an hour, depending on your provider. We email you when the report is ready. If you want to walk through it with us, a 30-minute review call can be booked separately.

    Is a review call included?

No. The price covers the report. A 30-minute review call with Clean Freight Consultants, where we walk through your report, answer questions and point out what to do first, is available separately once your report is ready.

    Can I get a refund?

All sales are final. No refunds.

Does the assessment count toward the CleanFreight platform?

Yes. Subscribe to the CleanFreight platform within 30 days of your report and CA$100 of your assessment comes off your first platform invoice. The credit is applied when you subscribe; it is not paid out in cash.

What happens to our data afterwards?

You can close the account whenever you like. We remove your telematics credentials immediately when you do, and your data is deleted within 30 days, unless you join the platform.
